SEPTEMBER SCRIPTURE OF THE MONTH
So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. (James 4:7)
This verse is a reminder that we need to rely on God's strength and power to resist the temptation of the devil. When we humble ourselves before God and submit to His will, the devil has no power over us.
This verse is especially relevant in September, which is the beginning of a new school year for many people. It is a time of new beginnings and fresh starts, but it is also a time when we are more vulnerable to temptation. The devil knows that we are starting over, and he will try to lure us away from God.
That is why it is so important to humble ourselves before God and resist the devil. When we do, we can be confident that God will give us the strength and power to overcome any temptation that comes our way.
Here are some ways to humble ourselves before God:
Pray regularly and confess our sins.
Read the Bible and study God's Word.
Worship God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
Serve others and put their needs before our own.
Here are some ways to resist the devil:
Put on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18).
Stand firm in your faith and do not be afraid (1 Peter 5:8-9).
Flee from temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Submit to God and resist the devil (James 4:7).
Remember, God is always with us and He is more powerful than the devil. When we humble ourselves before God and resist the devil, we can be sure that we will be victorious.
